About Robert Townsend, LCSW, LCAS-A

Robert Townsend, LCSW, LCAS-A Robert Townsend is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Carolina with three years of experience. He holds a Master of Divinity from Wake Forest University School of Divinity and a Master of Social Work from Radford University. Robert believes that the relationship between the client and the therapist is one of the most powerful factors to successful therapy and approaching the client with “unconditional positive regard” is of utmost importance if a client is going to feel comfortable in working with a therapist. Along with a person-centered approach, he relies on using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to address many issues that clients seek help for. Robert is also well versed in the spiritual concepts of many faiths, with mainstream Christianity and Buddhism being his strongest areas of expertise, and he works with each client to formulate a plan of care that will address their individual needs. In his spare time, Robert enjoys watching TV, walking, and spending time with his wife and two spoiled puppies.
