Quentin Powell is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate in North Carolina. He has a bachelor’s in social work Degree from Mars Hill University and a master’s in social work Degree from Johnson C Smith University. He has over 10 years of experience in the field that varies from inpatient psychiatric units, community based mental health and outpatient treatment. He has worked with children and adolescents, but primarily works with adults to help them solve and cope with problems in their everyday lives.
Quentin uses talk therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy primarily but will change depending on the individual and their needs. He is also trained to use the ASAM criteria to assist with treating multiple substance use disorders. He chooses to use each session as a “building block” to carry from one session to the next. Quentin believes that partnership is key to a successful therapy relationship. He views his role as an active listener, to assist individuals to work through past events and to assist individuals working for a brighter future. His goal is to use a person-centered approach to assist each individual to obtain their goals through therapy.
Quentin has experience with individual therapy, group therapy, substance abuse, and prevention primarily with adults and adolescents.
