Megan Belich, an LCSWA, is experienced with children 6 years to adolescent, adults, and families who are experiencing mental health issues. Megan received her master’s in social work from The University of Maryland, Baltimore. Megan has been certified as a family-centered treatment therapist, recognized by the Family Centered Treatment Foundation. As a family-centered therapist, Megan is experienced working with individuals who struggle with depression, anxiety, and trauma, including interpersonal relationship issues. Megan uses a family system approach, in conjunction with proven therapy techniques, such as motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy. As a therapist, and in her personal life, Megan prides herself as a devoted ally and advocate for the LGBTQIA+ communities.
Megan believes that the person-centered approach, where the client takes the lead in discussions, is an effective technique. Her goal is to create a therapeutic environment where the client can form their own solution, providing guidance and support along the path of treatment. Megan feels, as a therapist, she must act as a compassionate facilitator, listening without judgment, acknowledging the client’s experience, all while encouraging the client to lead the conversation. By taking a holistic approach, working with the individual, family systems, and environment(s), Megan provides a unique treatment plan, designed to create the most therapeutic environment, for each client.
At home, Megan enjoys cooking, camping, and spending time with her niece and nephew. Megan believes that maintaining a healthy, well-rounded lifestyle, allows her to better serve her clients.
