Laura Duskin, MD Laura Duskin is a Psychiatrist in North Carolina who has been practicing since 1998. She has an M.D. from the University of California at San Francisco, did her Internship, Family Medicine at State University of NY Downstate and Kings County Hospital, and her Residency, Psychiatry at the University of California at San Francisco. Laura works as an experienced and confidential psychiatrist Consultant for each patient. In consultation with the patient, she provides expert diagnostic evaluation and formulation of a treatment plan among choices of plans to address symptoms, and/or illness and other concerns. Laura has a great deal of experience discerning the medical, psychiatric, and psychologic history including family, trauma, and other experiences as they are relevant to understanding and addressing psychiatric and quality of life issues. In most cases communication is good with each patient who has come in for a consultation and/or ongoing psychiatric care. Each patient is unique as is his/her/their own history, their condition currently and in the past, and goals. The process of working with Laura is bilateral meaning in this context that the plans and recommendations we make are after conferring together and considering together the goals and potential benefits as well as risks of any plans of treatment(s). In her spare time, Laura enjoys family, conferring with a few good friends, reading, listening to music, and walks.
