Jen received her graduate degree from the University of Southern California where she obtained her Masters Degree in Social Work with an additional certificate in Military Social Work and Veterans Services. The focus of her degree program was adult mental health with a sub concentration in military and veteran populations as well as complex trauma. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate with experience working with veterans, people experiencing homelessness, people with severe and persistent mental health disorders (schizophrenia, bipolar, major depression, generalized anxiety), people with co-occurring substance use disorders and those who have experienced abuse. She is also a Certified Grief Counseling Specialist.
Jen is passionate about helping people who have experienced trauma reduce the impact of the trauma on their lives while regaining their sense of safety and control. She uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as Seeking Safety to assist with addressing the impacts of trauma. Jen also focuses on stress management, mindfulness and positive coping skills to assist clients with decreasing their symptoms. Jen also uses a strengths-based, solution-focused approach to help people learn about their mental health and empower them to take steps to improve their quality of life.
When not working, Jen enjoys time with her family, reading, going for walks/hikes, watching college football or spending time with friends.
