Isis has over 25 years of counseling experience. She earned a Master's in Counseling Psychology from Caldwell University in New Jersey where she was born and raised. As a Licensed Professional Counselor in New Jersey, she worked with vast client populations from substance abuse, juveniles in crisis, the homeless, incarcerated and individuals with severe, persistent mental illness as well as people struggling with general life issues. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina, Isis has previously held supervisory roles which currently includes supervising provisionally licensed counselors. Isis enjoys working with adolescents and adults. In addition to Cognitive Behavioral and Solution Focused Therapy, she is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy which is a specialized therapy used to treat childhood, adolescent and adult trauma. She is also trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT) which is trauma-based therapy used with children and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), an evidence-based therapy used to help individuals develop coping strategies for dealing with overwhelming emotions.
Isis is passionate about serving a diverse population of clients including the LGBTQ community and underserved populations. In her spare time, Isis enjoys spending time with her family, exploring new things with friends and curling up on the couch watching movies or reading.
