Heather graduated from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2003 with a Master of Arts in counseling with a concentration in community counseling. She graduated from Winston-Salem State University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Heather is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist, and a Certified Clinical Supervisor. Heather has worked in the human services field since 2000 previously having worked in the school, home, community mental health, private practice, hospital, and residential treatment settings with a variety of client populations. Heather uses cognitive-behavioral, solution focused and mindfulness approaches while working with clients. Heather believes in empowering clients to reach their full potential by assisting them with rediscovering their natural strengths. In addition to being a dually licensed therapist, Heather is also a 200hr registered yoga teacher, and she enjoys teaching and practicing yoga, and learning about yogic philosophy. She also enjoys learning about health and wellness, working out, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
