Provider type: Therapist
Serving: Adult/Adolescent/Children (Ages 10+)
Chris received his Master’s Degree in Counseling from Wake Forest University and is a
Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate. He was also able to earn
Bachelor’s Degrees in both Psychology and Elementary Education at the University of
Maine at Farmington, before moving down to North Carolina.
Chris has worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families in a variety of settings.
His counseling style appreciates the resilience, individuality, and personal narrative that
each person’s story entails. He is enthusiastic about being a life-long learner and
approaches counseling from both a holistic and wellness-based perspective.
While Chris does use techniques rooted in theories such as Cognitive Behavioral
Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focused Therapy, he will always shape
his sessions to the needs of his clients and meet them where they are in their journey. He sees aspects of humanistic theory to be vital in the inspiration of growth, with some
core components of his approach being unconditional positive regard, empathy and
authenticity in his therapy sessions.
Chris sees each person to be the expert of their own lives and to have the ability to
create change. Through a collaborative effort, Chris works with his clients to increase
self-awareness, provide psychoeducation, and reach their personal goals.
In his free time, Chris enjoys running, playing soccer, listening to music, watching
sports, and hiking with his puppy Koda.
