About Charity Matlock, LCMHC

Charity Matlock is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. Charity became a therapist because she sees value in every individual’s journey through life. Charity truly believes that life is all about figuring out who you are, what you want out of life, and learning how to get it - all while enjoying the process and maintaining that ever elusive “balance.” Charity is passionate about working with adults with ADHD and those on the Autism Spectrum as well as adults who struggle with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, trauma, and as they adjust to life’s ups and downs. Charity received her Master of Arts and Education in Mental Health Counseling from Teachers College, Columbia University. Charity uses a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Mindfulness Techniques, Multicultural Therapy, Feminist Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. These techniques are aimed at helping clients make the changes they’d like to see, including living a healthier, more satisfying and self-directed life. As a mental health clinician, she aims to create a comfortable and non-judgmental space to collaborate with clients. This collaboration encourages clients to look at their struggles, uncover their specialized needs, and reach their goals – which leads to not just healing, but fulfillment! You can expect genuineness, compassion, acceptance, and respect as well as that firm gentle nudge (and a little humor) from her as you focus on exploring greater self-insight, clarity, and strategies for you to find the correct balance in your life again. So, if you truly want to make a change in your life, are ready to learn the skills, and put the skills into practice, I am excited and ready to support you!
