Barbara Miller is a North Carolina Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor. She earned her Master’s at Nova University in Florida. She has 30 years’ experience in individual, family and group therapy in office and school settings, over telehealth and, when warranted, in the home. She enjoys working with children, adolescents and their families, as well as adults. Barbara is proud to offer multiple therapy techniques including CBT, DBT, Reality, Person Centered, Motivational Interviewing and Psychoeducation to help each client reach their unique life goals.
Barbara has experience working with children (as young as 5), adolescents, and adults in an upfront, caring and straight forward manner. Barbara has experience working with clients in the office, school and home settings, and telehealth sessions.
Her areas of experience include: ADHD, Oppositional Defiant, anxiety, depression, Bipolar, anger issues, family issues, and Borderline Personality.
She believes that to be an effective therapist one must truly care for their clients and offer a holistic approach that includes wellness in body, mind and spirit. She can incorporate faith-based practices into treatment if a client introduces a desire or need to focus on spiritual values.
In her free time, Barbara is actively involved in community outreaches, a local church, and she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, traveling, and watching her husband’s band perform.
