Alexandra Lagunas is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Carolina who has been practicing since 2022. She has a Master of Social Work from Aurora University. While attending graduate school, she worked with adolescents who had experienced trauma from sexual abuse. Postgraduate, Alexandra worked at a rape crisis center providing advocacy services and crisis intervention to survivors of sexual assault of all ages. Alexandra has also worked at a private practice and healthcare setting providing therapeutic services for adolescents, adults, and seniors. These work settings helped her gain skills in empowering clients, meeting clients where they are at, and overall providing clients with support during a difficult time. Alexandra strives to create a safe and warm space for her clients to share, while providing support and listening without judgement. Alexandra sees adolescents, adults, and seniors individually. Alexandra also enjoys working with a wide range of behavioral health issues including depression, anxiety, grief/loss, and trauma from sexual assault/ harassment. Alexandra provides Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Alexandra’s outlook on therapy is that her client is the expert in their own life. Alexandra speaks Spanish and can provide therapeutic services to an underserved population. She also has experience working with survivors of sexual assault and can provide trauma informed care. Alexandra also enjoys working with the LGBTQ+ community and can offer support, guidance, and a safe space. In her spare time, Alexandra enjoys the outdoors and spends her free time hiking, camping, canoeing, and traveling. She also loves spending time with her cats and dog.
