Sam is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who received his Master’s in Social Work from University of North Carolina Charlotte and a Bachelor of Arts in Literature and Psychology from University of North Carolina Asheville.
Sam is certified in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), an evidence-based practice that treats children and adolescents who have experienced traumatic events. Sam additionally employs a variety of other therapeutic techniques to tailor treatment to the individualized needs of his clients. Sam is experienced in treating children, adolescents, and adults with anxiety, depression, posttraumatic stress, anger issues, behavioral problems, substance abuse, schizophrenia, autism, and other disorders.
Sam believes that therapy is most effective when conducted in a positive, relaxed environment where individuals are free to explore their thoughts and feelings without fear of judgement.
Outside of work, Sam is a guitar player and music enthusiast. He additionally enjoys exercise, the great outdoors, reading, video games, and spending time with family and friends.
