Heather graduated with her Masters in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte Campus. While she was attending her graduate program she was the President of the Graduate Social Work Association, which won best student organization during her tenure. Heather is a member of of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). Heather’s research in mental health appears in the 2016 book Infusing spirituality into existing social work approaches in which she also co-authored a chapter.
Heather is a practitioner of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and additionally utilizes Solution Focused Therapy. She also adheres to the Humanistic psychological perspective and believes in treating the whole person. Heather has a host of experience in working with individuals in a variety of areas including anxiety disorders, depression, substance abuse, and severe and persistent mental illness.
Heather is active in the community and serves as a Coach at Miracle League through YMCA of Greater Charlotte. She believes in living a well-rounded life and is a practicing artist, photographer, animal lover, and sports enthusiast in her free time.
